WHO CAN SIGN UP?

The Design Thinking Challenge (Singapore) is a public competition.

You do not need any prior knowledge of design thinking - We will teach you at the 1-day workshop!

Form a team of maximum 6 people.

SOLVE A REAL LIFE SOCIAL FAMILY ISSUE:
DESIGN THINKING CHALLENGE FORMAT

The team will first attend a 1-day design thinking workshop conducted by GRASP Guru's Principal Trainer, Joel Alexander Ng.

During the workshop, your team will be presented with a real life social family issue. Use the enhanced design thinking methodology taught at the workshop to solve the issue.

Finalise your solution and submit it for evaluation within a month.

The results will be announced once evaluation is completed.

By participating in the Design Thinking Challenge (Singapore), each team member will be entitled to a 1-day certified training in design thinking, receive a Certificate of Knowledge in GRASP Enhanced Design Thinking (digital), and gain an entry ticket to participate in the Design Thinking Challenge (Singapore)!

REFERRAL GIFT
Refer another team and earn a referral gift of SGD20 upon successful registration of the team.

FAQs
What if I have less than 6 people in a team?
Your team can still participate in the Design Thinking Challenge (Singapore). However, the participation fee remains at SGD480 for the entire team regardless of the number of people in the team.
May I join the competition as an independent i.e. not affiliated to any school or organisation?
Yes.
What is the problem statement?
The problem statement will be revealed later. Look out for it!
May I attend only part of the 1-day design thinking workshop, because I have other commitments (e.g. classes)?
Yes. For information, we will be sharing details of the issue and problem statement with you at the workshop. The information will help you design a more viable solution and make it a more rewarding competition experience for your team.
May I submit my team's competition proposal without attending the 1-day design thinking workshop?
Yes. For information, we will be sharing details of the issue and problem statement with you at the workshop. The information will help you design a more viable solution and make it a more rewarding competition experience for your team. You will still need to pay the participation fee.
Can my team change our indicated workshop date after submitting the registration form?
Yes. But please email your request to graspguru@gmail.com latest 4 weeks before the original indicated date. Approval of date change will be subject to availability of slots and other fair-play considerations.
May I change my team details (e.g. Leader's name, Name of Team, Mobile number, etc) after submitting the registration form?
Yes. Please email the changes to graspguru@gmail.com.
Can I swap team members as one of them cannot make it for the workshop?
Yes. But you must email the member changes to graspguru@gmail.com.
What if my team comes up with a good idea and wishes to productise or market the solution? Do i own the intellectual property rights to the ideas generated by my team?
Intellectual property rights belong to the team that came up with the ideas and solutions.
Other Terms & Conditions Registration is confirmed only upon receipt of all registration details & full participation fee | There will be no pro-ration of participation fees if there are less than 6 persons in your team | Final proposals submitted 1 month after the workshop will not be accepted | The intellectual property rights of the ideas generated from this Design Thinking Challenge (Singapore) shall belong to the originating teams | The judges' decisions are final | There shall be no refund for teams that pull out. However, teams may replace absent members with new ones. GRASP Guru must be kept informed about such member changes | GRASP Guru reserves the right to reassign teams to alternative dates for the workshop, reschedule or cancel the event due to unforeseen circumstances, as well as to alter the rules & prizes if necessary to preserve the overall learning value and positive spirit of competition | GRASP Guru is not liable for any expenses incurred e.g. transport cost | By submitting your personal data to GRASP Guru, you consent to us collecting, using, disclosing and processing your personal data in accordance with your dealings with GRASP Guru.
